The first winner of the Hodgsons ‘Award for Success’ has been announced today. MARK Product Limited has been awarded a tailored accountancy and advice package worth £2500.00, which involves working with the management team, preparing a business plan and providing financial forecasts. The next stage for Hodgsons is to approach potential equity investors and secure the funding that will allow the business to reach its full potential.

The South West wave energy company Orecon has caught the eye of the US Embassy with its hi-tech plans to capture renewable energy from the sea.
Orecon’s Chief Executive David Crisp was among industry leaders invited to a meeting in Bristol to brief Seth Patch, Environment, Science and Technology Officer at the US Embassy in London.

St Austell Brewery has agreed to a major deal with Healey’s Cornish Cyder Farm David Healey, owner of Healey’s Cornish Cyder Farm with James Staughton, Managing Director of St Austell Brewery to continue selling the popular Cornish Rattler Cyder in its pubs for the next five years.
An advocator of local sourcing, St Austell Brewery gave Cornish Rattler its first break in 2004 when they agreed to stock the cyder in many of its 168 pubs. The five year deal with Cornish Rattler is a strong commitment towards long term local sourcing and a positive step in driving forward the local economy by working with and supporting local businesses.
